Mission: URDT was founded to address the missing link in development programmes: the merger of truly functional education and training with rural development interventions, with the intent of empowering marginalized people living in rural communities

    • Note: No staff on the ground who speak English. Previous interns had worked through an interpreter, a brother of a project intern from the community. URDT will work to address this.

      • Travel from Kampala: 700,000 UG shillings ($207)

    • Project: Assisted with the construction of pit latrines for the school. In addition to the pit latrines, the Chapters collaborated with other URDT personnel to conduct research on health and sanitation in the community surrounding the school.

    • Project: Construction of a water collection system in the girl’s school. Educating community members and students in the girl’s school about water quality and sanitation, and provide general tutoring in the girl’s school
